2XU's Cam Brown Ready to Race Ironman Japan
After an 8hr flight from Hawaii, 2XU Ironman champ Cameron Brown touched down in Japan to prepare for Sunday’s Ironman 70.3 in Tokoname City. We were thrilled to hear he arrived safe and sound and appears in great spirits ahead of the big race:
“It's been over 10 years since I was last here and it's great to be back. I raced here in 1990 as a 18year old and spent 9 years racing for Team Epson. The race takes place only a few kms away from the Nagoya International airport where I'm staying and we will run from the mainland back over to the Airport Island to finish.
I can't tell you too much about the bike leg as I got lost trying to ride the course yesterday and ended up riding for 3hrs instead of my planned 2hrs (I can't read Japanese yet and only know a few words - most of them naughty as well)! We start at 7:30am so it will be a warm race, with temperatures expected to hit 31-32c. Good pre-Hawaii prep anyway. I’ll be in touch straight after Sunday’s race, but you’re welcome to follow me during the event on Ironmanlive or the Ironman Japan website.”
Sayonara from Team 2XU Cam! Can’t wait to hear all about it.
