2XU Ambassadors blitz the QLD Gatorade Tri!
2XU Ambassadors and training partners Emma Jackson and Sam Betten scored solid wins at round 4 of the Gatorade Queensland Tri Series at Robina on the weekend.
Jackson and Betten made it a clean sweep for 2XU and their Brisbane based Pine Rivers Triathlon Club squad over the sprint distance race.
Jackson, the current World Under 23 Champion, trailed in the swim but came from behind to overtake Courtney Gilfillan, demonstrating sensational form. Jackson cruised throughout the run to finish strongly. “This is my first race back after my break since Noosa (Triathlon), so it’s nice to do reasonably well.”
Betten also put in a solid performance but the win didn’t come easily. “That hurt,” said Betten as he crossed the line.
With no tactical race plan, the Under 23 Australian Team member says he went as hard as he could until he blew up.
Jackson and Betten are now focusing on the Geelong Sprint Championships at the end of February, with Betten looking to claim the Under 23 Australian title and Jackson, her first Elite Title (at the ripe old age of 19)!
GOOD LUCK GUYS!
